Topic: The Word Will Prevail

Scripture: Acts 27:9-25

For every prophetic word God gives us, the enemy will stir up contention. He will create situations and bring contrary opinions in an attempt to weaken your faith in what God has said. In our anchor text, Paul, being on a ship sailing to Italy, received a revelation about the journey that required them to change their route. When he spoke to the centurion about it, the owner of the ship came with a contrary word and persuaded the centurion to ignore the revelation of Paul.

That was such a costly mistake because they encountered great loss and danger. By ignoring the word of wisdom, they faced unnecessary hardship. Thankfully, God sent another word to Paul and this time, they listened. The word of God prevailed and not one life was lost.

There may be contrary words, situations, and opinions that go against God’s Word concerning your life. But it is your faith and obedience to the Word that will cause it to prevail. When things seem to be going the wrong way, declare what God has said. Stand firm in faith, and watch the Word of God come to pass.

Prayer: Father, I believe Your Word. I am confident that, no matter the situation, what You have spoken will come to pass.
