Topic: His Plan Is Greater Than Your Pain

Scripture: Genesis 15:1-6

Very often, in certain seasons, there is one area of our lives that seems to overshadow all the other benefits of our walk with God. For Abraham, it was about having a child. For Elijah, it was the threat of Jezebel. For Paul, at one time, there was a thorn in the flesh. When we magnify these issues, we lose sight of the big picture of God’s plan for our lives.

Abraham could not understand why he had been blessed with wealth and yet he had no heir. He had experienced the goodness of God, but there was still an area of his life that didn’t look praiseworthy. When Abraham complained, God took him outside and showed him the stars in the sky. God was telling Abraham, “I am not just giving you a child. I am giving you children that cannot be numbered. My provision is bigger than your need.”

You may be dealing with a challenge, or you may have a need that has not been met. God is giving you a fresh perspective, renewed zeal, a bigger vision. What you thought was a deficiency or disadvantage has been provided for in abundance. Don’t let your present need dictate your walk with God. Set your sight on the glory ahead, and watch God turn things around. His plan is greater than your pain.

Prayer: Father, I thank You for a fresh revelation of Your will for my life. In every season, I will keep my eyes fixed on You.
