Topic: My God Is Never Late
Scripture: Mark 5:22-43
Jairus came to Jesus and asked him to come lay his hands on his daughter, who was gravely ill. Jesus agreed to do so, and as they went, a crowd was gathering eager to see another miracle. On their way, a woman with an issue of blood stepped in with an audacious act of faith to claim healing by touching the hem of Jesus’ garment. And Jesus took time to address her and commend her act of faith. She didn’t need permission from Jesus to be healed, she just needed to put her faith to work.
As admirable as her action was, from Jairus’ perspective, that was an interruption in the plan. By the time Jesus was done with the woman, Jairus’ daughter was dead. The delay had worsened his situation. And a voice in his head probably kept saying, “If only Jesus had been quicker to get to my daughter, she would be alive and well.” But Jesus said to him, “Don’t be afraid, only believe.”

Sometimes, in the waiting period, it may seem like things are getting worse. But know this, God is always on time. Jesus arrived and brought the girl back to life, which was a bigger testimony. If you are waiting on God, do not be afraid. Don’t be anxious about the interruptions. Only believe in God’s plan and respond in faith to every Word. Your testimony will surely come.
Prayer: Father, You hold my life and You determine my seasons. So by faith, I respond to Your Word and I trust in Your plan.
