Topic: Change Your Trajectory

Scripture: John 4:28-39

The woman from Sychar had a reputation of moving from one man to the next, one marriage to another. By the time she was introduced in John 4, she had already breezed through 5 marriages and she was with yet another man. Her life was the subject of town gossip. But then, she met Jesus at Jacob’s well and her life was never the same again.

The transformation of the Samaritan woman (known as Photini according to early Church history) did not just happen because she heard Jesus. It happened because she took what she heard and ran with it. She announced it all over Samaria, and made it her life’s mission to tell people about the Messiah. She did not wait for her life to become perfect before making impact.

If you have encountered Jesus, then just like Photini, you can change the trajectory of your life by letting His light shine through you to affect others. You may have an unpleasant reputation, challenges, or scars to deal with, but the Gospel at work in you will transform your life, giving you purpose and direction. Let your light shine, and let the glory of God be seen in you.

Prayer: Father, may my life reveal Christ to my world, by the power of Your Spirit.
