Topic: Time To Step Up

Scripture: 1 Samuel 17:1-11

There was a battle between Israel and the Philistines. With each camp on opposite sides of a valley called Elah, Goliath stepped forward and challenged Israel to send a champion to confront him in battle. The victory of an entire nation was dependent on the champion they chose. All of Israel was afraid but David rose up to the challenge, defeated Goliath and gave Israel the victory. The Israelites chased after the Philistines and gathered spoil, marking a comprehensive victory.

Just as Israel had their champion, God’s people have their champion who has already won the victory for us. When the enemy came to condemn all of mankind, our Champion stepped up to defeat sin, death, and all powers of the enemy. He is Jesus, our Saviour and Lord. There is no need to fear because the enemy has been defeated.

We have appeared at a time where we must claim the spoils of war, taking back everything the enemy stole. We must step up as conquerors to claim what Jesus has won for us. The enemy might still be threatening, but don’t be deceived; he is a defeated foe. Enforce your victory and lay hold on the restoration Jesus has given you.

Prayer: Father, I thank You for the victory I have through Jesus Christ. Today, I step up to enforce the victory in every area of my life.
