Topic: Reach Out In Faith

Scripture: Luke 8:43-48

Everyone who has received Christ as their Lord and saviour has been grafted into the family of God. You have access to God as your Father, and can partake of every blessing that is available in Christ. There is no condemnation or disqualification that can be used against you because you have been justified.

However, these amazing benefits of our identity in Christ often evade God’s people who are ignorant of what is available to them. In our anchor text, there is Jairus who has come to Jesus, asking him to heal his daughter; there is a crowd pressing to see what great thing Jesus is about to do; then there’s a woman who knows that there is power available if she can touch Jesus. Jairus is following due process, the crowd is waiting for something spectacular, but the woman is hungry enough to just reach out and take what is already available. She received instant healing because her faith reached out to receive what others could not perceive.

Today, there are benefits that are available to you in Christ Jesus. Others may go through the day as spectators, but you can be like that woman who recognizes what God has made available and goes for it. Rise up in faith and lay hold on what your Father has given you today.

Prayer: Father, I thank You for every blessing and benefit that is available to me. I reach out in faith to receive, and I know my life will not be the same.
