Topic: You Matter To God

Scripture: Psalm 8:1-9

The Psalmist was in awe as he exclaimed, “What is man that you keep thinking about him?” As David meditated on the wonders of creation and the excellence of God’s handiwork, he could not understand why such a great God will give so much attention to human beings who were so fallible. Of all the wonderful things God created, it is only in man that God has chosen to dwell. This applies to mankind generally, and to you specifically. God is mindful of you.

Jesus takes the revelation a notch higher by telling us that the hairs on our heads are numbered. (Matthew 10:30) God is interested in the details of your life. Nothing happens without His permission and everything you will ever need has already been provided. You are that important.

In a world that will try to make you compromise in order to be recognized, in a world where people are searching for purpose and relevance, there is a liberating power for anyone who understands that God is involved in the details of our lives. He is there for the highs and successes, and He is also there for the challenges. And He ensures that at the end, all things work together for your good. No matter the season you find yourself in, you’re not alone. God is with you and He is interested in everything that matters to you.

Prayer: Father, I honour Your presence in my life and celebrate Your incomparable love for me. Because You are with me, I will fear no evil.
