Topic: Pick Up Your Stone

Scripture: 1 Samuel 17:33-51

You were designed for dominion. God fashioned you and equipped you to enforce the victory of Christ on earth. This means that for every contention against you, your victory has already been guaranteed in Christ. You just need to step up in His name. Don’t be afraid. Don’t be complacent. Confront the enemy because he is afraid of the One at work in you.

When Goliath showed up in Israel, taunting and threatening, the people were afraid because they saw their smallness in the face of a giant. They felt weak, helpless, and defeated. For days, Goliath insulted them, and no one reacted until David appeared. He stepped up in the name of the Lord and enforced the victory that had already been given. But the victory required an act of faith.

David came with his sling and five smooth stones. Saul had offered his armour, but David knew that faith for victory required that he embrace his own journey with God, not another man’s journey. You don’t need to envy another man’s journey. God will do more with a boy wielding a stone with faith than a king wearing an armour with fear. Pick up your stone. Embrace God’s grace that is at work in you. It’s time to let the giants fall down. It’s time for the enemy to flee.

Prayer: Father, I acknowledge the victory I have in You, through Christ. Therefore, I confront every opposition, and by faith, I overcome.
