Topic: You Are Heaven’s Trigger
Scripture: James 5:14-18
A trigger is a device that sets off a mechanism. It causes an event or situation to take place. The most common use of the term has been with firearms. A gun only shoots when the trigger is pulled. Without the trigger, there will be no shot, and we will never know how effective the firearm is.
God designed mankind as a trigger for the heavens on earth. Every intervention of heaven needs a man to initiate it. If the walls of Jericho would fall, men must blow the trumpet on the 7th day and shout. If the sun would stand still, a Joshua must command it. If the red sea will part, a Moses must act. If rain will be stopped for three and a half years, an Elijah must declare it.
God has not changed the principle. If heaven will intervene in your affairs, you must understand that you are the one to trigger the reaction. James tells us that we are no different from Elijah. If he had the power to stop and release rain through effective prayer, then you also can release divine realities on earth. You are not a victim, you are a trigger. With the help of the Holy Spirit, you can effect change. Put that power to use.
Prayer: Father, You have given me authority on earth through my union with Christ and by Your Spirit within me. Today, I take responsibility over my assignment, and I put my faith to work.
