Topic: God Has A Bigger Plan
Scripture: Genesis 15:1-6
In Genesis 15, we meet a version of Abraham that many Christians can relate with. This Abraham already has a relationship with God. He has seen the faithfulness of God in certain areas of his life, and he has testimonies that prove that God has been good to him. But, there is an area, a very important area, of his life that needs to be addressed. He has no child, and as it stands, all his wealth will be inherited by his servant.
Very often, in certain seasons, there is one area of our lives that seems to overshadow all the other benefits of our walk with God. For Abraham, it was a child. For Elijah, it was the threat of Jezebel. For Paul, at one time, there was a thorn in the flesh. When we magnify these issues, we lose sight of the big picture of God’s plan for our lives. When Abraham complained, God took him outside and showed him the stars in the sky. God was telling Abraham, “I am not just giving you a child. I am giving you children that cannot be numbered. My provision is bigger than your need.”
You may be dealing with a challenge, or you may have a need that has not been met. God is giving you a fresh perspective, renewed zeal, a bigger vision. What you thought was a deficiency or disadvantage has been given in abundance. Don’t let your present need dictate your walk with God. Set your sight on the glory ahead, and watch God turn things around.
Prayer: Father, I thank You for a fresh revelation of Your will for my life. In every season, I will keep my eyes fixed on You.
