Topic: Don’t Settle For Less
Scripture Reading: Matthew 25:1-30
A life of faith requires passionate pursuit, an aggressive press into what God has prepared for you. Faith is not a passive belief, neither is it a feeling you switch on when you’re in church and switch off when you leave. It requires you to always speak, to always act, and to always stand your ground in God’s Word, even when the physical evidence is contrary to what you believe.
In Matthew 25, Jesus gives two parables that highlight the importance of an aggressive posture in the Kingdom. The parable of the virgins and parable of the talents highlight one truth; there is no place for those with a complacent attitude towards the Kingdom of God. It must be the most important thing in your life. Your love for God and your service to the Kingdom is a treasure that must be guarded fervently, not an afterthought to your already busy schedule.
There are promises of God over your life and destiny. There are responsibilities given you by reason of the skills and opportunities God has given you. Don’t be complacent or settle for less. Fight the good fight of faith. Lay hold on all that God has in store for you. The rewards of the Kingdom can only be obtained through fervent faith.
Prayer: Father, I press toward the mark to lay hold on every blessing prepared for this season of my life. I embrace the fullness of Your will, and I refuse to settle for less.
