Topic: Your Joy Is A Kingdom Strategy
Scripture: Habakkuk 3:17-19
Joy is not a feeling because feelings are produced in the flesh, or more accurately, through our senses. But joy is a fruit of the Spirit. It is evidence of the Holy Spirit at work in a person, regardless of the circumstances around them. It is possible to be joyful when things are not working right, in moments of hardship, and even in confusion. It won’t make sense to your reasoning, but you can tell in that moment that God is with you. That joy is confirmation that He is working it out for you.
On the other hand, the absence of joy is proof that you are trying to handle things by your own strength. And when you rely on your strength, you end up drained, tired, and irritated, without joy. In the book of Acts, whenever the disciples were persecuted, arrested, or beaten, they rejoiced. It was not because they didn’t feel pain but that, despite the pain, the Holy Spirit was still at work in them. Paul and Silas sang praises in prison. Peter and the apostles held a thanksgiving service after being beaten and threatened. And every time they rejoiced, fresh strength was released.
When you express joy in the midst of challenges, you are not denying reality. You are tapping into a greater reality that can change the situation. In the Kingdom, joy is not a mere reaction. It is evidence of the presence of God and a strategy for your victory. No matter what you may be going through, rejoice in the Lord because His joy is your strength.
Prayer: Father, my strength is found in You alone. I choose to rejoice in every situation because I know You are working it out for me.
