Topic: A Shift In Perspective
Scripture: Habakkuk 3:3-19
“For forty years, we have been roaming, not knowing where we are going. We have been eating the same meal, sleeping in tents instead of houses, and having to follow rules and regulations. Life is so tough here, I wish I was back in Egypt.” This perspective was held by a great number of Israelites as they made their way to the Promised Land. In different ways, many Christians reflect the same pattern of thinking.
There is a perspective that magnifies challenges and belittles the help God gives. This leads to ingratitude, frustration, fear, and depression. And yet, in the same situation, there can be a divine perspective. “For forty years, God has been leading us. We don’t need to look for food because He feeds us with bread from heaven. Our clothes don’t wear out, our footwear is always in good shape. And though the journey seems long, He is leading us to a land flowing with milk and honey.”
You cannot get to the right destination with the wrong perspective. We do not deny challenges or pretend there are no problems. But in the midst of these challenges, a godly perspective will recognize the grace of God that sustains us. A godly perspective will show gratitude for the blessings and help we receive in the difficult situation. And a godly perspective will not lose sight of the promise of God. It is time to experience a shift in your perspective so you can enter into the fullness of His will.
Prayer: Father, by the help of Your Spirit, I choose to see through the lens of Your Word and to respond in gratitude and faith in every season.
