Topic: Don’t Hide Your Message
Scripture: John 4:15-42
“Come and see a man who told me everything I ever did! Could he possibly be the Messiah?” This announcement was all it took to kick-start a revival in Samaria. The Samaritan woman had gradually moved from seeing Jesus as a Jew that she had to avoid, to perceiving him as a prophet, then finally understanding that he is the Messiah. She knew this was too good a truth to be hidden. People had to hear this.
But there were enough reasons why spreading the news looked like a bad idea. This was a woman who had likely been the centre of gossip for a while. Having had five husbands and now living with a sixth man she wasn’t married to, telling people about a man you met was risky. They could have replied by saying, “Eeeiii, another man? Aren’t you tired?” But despite the drama of her past, she still went ahead to share the good news. She knew that if they saw and heard him, their lives would not be the same again. Jesus stayed there for two days, and many people believed in Him.
Just like the Samaritan woman, you also have a message to share, and you may have created excuses why you’re not ready to share yet. But people need your message in order to also believe in the Saviour. It can be as simple as “Come and meet my Jesus,” and it will kick-start a salvation experience for someone. The world needs your message. Don’t hide it.
Meditation: Why do you believe in Jesus? Today, there is grace available to help you share your salvation story with someone. Don’t let excuses get in the way.
