Topic: Power In The Secret Place
Scripture: James 5:13-18
As Apostle James expounds on the power of prayer, he makes reference to one of Israel’s greatest prophets: Elijah. This was the prophet who called fire down from heaven, stopped rain from falling for three and a half years, and then finally brought back rain. He resurrected a widow’s son, was supernaturally sustained during drought, and ascended to heaven in a whirlwind. That is quite a remarkable CV.
But James didn’t mention Elijah to intimidate us, but to let us know the possibilities available to us. Elijah is no different from us. He didn’t operate with a power that is reserved for the spiritual elite. Elijah simply accessed the power that is available to every Believer in the secret place of prayer. He withstood every opposition, overcame every obstacle, and had dominion over nature just because he knew how to walk in Divine power.
You have power waiting to be tapped into in the secret place. Certain challenges still persist just because you are yet to apply yourself to the tremendous power that Christ has given. That power is found in the secret place of prayer, and it has been freely given to you. Go for it!
Prayer: Father, I acknowledge the tremendous power available to me through prayer. Today, I embrace my authority in Christ to exercise dominion on earth.
