Topic: Experiencing Divine Realities
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 2:7-16
Are you in a crisis, or are you experiencing a miracle? The answer depends on what you’re conscious of. Peter, in one instance, is the only man besides Jesus to walk on water. That seemed to be the reality until he changed his consciousness and focused on the boisterous wind. Then he began to sink. Here’s the interesting thing. There was already a storm when Peter asked for permission to walk on water. When he took the first step, the storm was still there, but all he could think of was, “Jesus asked me to come.” And as long as that was his focus, he was living a miracle. When the consciousness changed, he moved from miracle to trouble.
Consciousness is the state of being aware and responsive. There are divine realities available to you, if only you can be aware and responsive. Jacob, at a point in his life was sleeping on a stone; at that same instance, he had a Divine visitation with angels all around him. But he was not aware of that reality until it was over. Hagar was close to a well that her child could drink from, but because she wasn’t aware, her reality was that of crisis. The brother of the prodigal son was not conscious of his rights, so he became jealous of his brother.
Your reality is not based on what is happening physically but rather, what you’re conscious about. One assignment of the Holy Spirit is to make you conscious of what God has given you. The crisis and the struggle you may be facing is a false reality because you’re not conscious of the blessings available. A life that is led by the Spirit and conscious of God’s presence – that is your divine reality! Today, be conscious of divine realities all around you and respond to the hand of God at work in your life.
Prayer: Father, I receive the help of the Holy Spirit to rightly perceive divine realities in my life.
