Topic: Take The Limits Off
Scripture: Genesis 18:11-15
“Is anything too hard for the Lord?” This was a question God asked because someone had placed a limit on what God could do for her. That person was Sarah, the wife of Abraham and the mother of Isaac. God had said she was going to have a son in a year’s time, and she laughed within herself. But before we berate her for a lack of faith, let us examine her reason.
The text reveals to us that not only was Sarah old, but her reproductive cycle as a woman had ended. No eggs were being produced, and yet she’s being told she would have a child. She laughed. “If only God had done it sooner, maybe it could happen, but it’s too late now.” She was focused on the strength of the limitation, rather than the omnipotence of the Lord. Yours may not be about pregnancy, but there are certain promises and dreams that you may be tempted to give up on because, naturally speaking, it can never happen.
This is a season of fulfilment. Every word that God has spoken is finding expression in this season. No prophetic word in scripture will be left unfulfilled. As people of God, we must be positioned for fulfilment, and that requires taking off every limitation you have placed on yourself because of your past, your age, qualifications, biological cycle, lack of resources, etc. Take the limits off because this is the answer to God’s question: There is NOTHING too hard for the Lord. If God has said it, take off the limits because He will do it.
Meditation: What are the limits you have endorsed in your life that are preventing you from building faith for the fulfilment of God’s Word?
