Topic: It’s Not Getting Easier, You’re Getting Stronger!
Scripture: Judges 6:11-16
With the myriad of challenges that the world is facing in these times, such as high cost of living, pressure to succeed, health challenges, among others, it is not surprising to find people hoping for an easier life with less challenges. And for Christians, when things don’t get easier, seeds of doubt and fear begin to creep into our hearts. But God does not show His glory by making things easier. He does it by making you stronger.
When Gideon had a divine encounter with the angel, he wanted to find out why God hadn’t shown up to make their lives better. They were being oppressed by the Midianites and living in fear. Their expectation was that the God they had heard and read about would show up with miracles to save them. God’s answer was not to take away the challenges but to reveal His strength through Gideon to overcome the Midianites.
Every biblical prophecy concerning these times reveals this truth, that the days will get darker. But it also shows us that God’s answer is to showcase His people who carry greater light. He is empowering you to overcome, no matter the difficulty. You don’t have to deny the challenges or pretend they don’t exist. But you must also acknowledge this truth, that God has given you strength beyond any challenge. Rather than complain about what you are facing, stir up the strength of God in you for dominion and victory.
Prayer: Father, I acknowledge that You are at work in me. Therefore, I have the strength to overcome every challenge.
