Topic: You Have Access To God’s Best
Scripture Reading: Romans 8:31-39
During one of our recent Bible Study meetings, someone asked, “Does God have favourites?” Going through the Old Testament, God clearly favoured some above others. Israel, for instance, were God’s special people among all nations. But now, everyone can have access to all that God has in store, if only they can embrace the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
If God has favourites, He would have reserved His best gift, Jesus, just for them. There would have been a criteria for salvation, which came at the cost of the precious blood of Jesus. But guess what; the blood that saved Peter, James, and John is the same blood saving us all. No individual, nation, or race was given a superior portion of the gift of salvation.
Hence, the Apostle Paul would ask: if God did not keep the most important thing, the life of His Son, away from you, but freely gave it, what blessing or benefit do you think He would want to keep from you? Through Jesus, you have access to every good thing that the Kingdom of God has to offer. The question, therefore, is not “What will God give me?”, but “What am I ready to receive through faith?”
Prayer: Father, I thank You for the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ, which gives me access to every blessing in the Kingdom.
