Topic: God Knows Your Works

Scripture Reading: Revelation 3:7-13

God gives us the power to do spectacular works that capture the attention of everyone around us. But God also gives power for the works that others cannot see; the works that are done in secret. He sees the commitment to a life of prayer, He sees your generosity towards the Kingdom, He sees your zeal to serve in your local assembly, and the love with which you support those around you.

In the early church, while God was working miracles through the apostles, we see Him also focus on the works of Cornelius. He was a Roman centurion who feared God. He was committed to a life of prayer and giving, and these hidden works were recognised by God, such that He commanded Peter to go to him. Cornelius became the first gentile to be baptised in the Holy Spirit, paving the way for every other Gentile from that time onwards.

God wants you to know that He sees your works, the effort you put in towards the work of the Kingdom, and your desire to walk in His will. You may have little strength or resources, but He is opening a door for you that no one can shut. If you have been faithful in your little, God will lead you into abundance. Don’t be discouraged. Your Father, who sees your secret works, will reward you openly.

Prayer: Father, You are my rewarder. I am not discouraged because I know You will reward every good work.
