Topic: Marred Vessels In The Potter’s Hand
Scripture Reading: Jeremiah 18:1-6
When we envisage God as the Potter, it is easy to assume that He just shapes us and then places us on a pedestal to show us off. But in truth, we never leave the Potter’s hand. We are constantly being moulded and perfected. And when we go through the seasons where we are marred by the issues of life, the Potter’s hands are still there to shape us again.
Samson got so marred in life that he lost his power, his sight, his dignity, and his role as judge of Israel. He was merely a source of entertainment for the Philistines. But, because he was in the Potter’s hands, his hair began to grow again and he found the strength to fulfil his purpose as a deliverer by killing more Philistines in that final act than he had done in previous years. He had been reshaped by the Potter.
There will always be issues of life that will try to dent and mar the beauty of our lives. When faced with such issues, you don’t need to cover up or try to hide. Just yield to the Potter who has the perfect plan. He will reshape you and perfect you for the purpose you were created. Remember this: you are always in the hands of God, the Potter.
Prayer: Father, You are the Potter, and my life is in Your hands. Thank You for continually shaping and perfecting me.
