Topic: Free From Fear
Scripture Reading: Romans 8:14-17
When God created man, He did not design him to have fears and insecurities, saddled with complexes and phobias. God’s idea of man, or more accurately, God’s idea of you, is a person of dominion and authority, exercising power through an eternal union with Christ. How did we get this version that has to deal with fear?
Well, Adam had nothing to fear until the day he stepped out of God’s will. Fear became a defining feature of the fallen man because he no longer carried the presence of God. But, through Jesus, power, dominion, and authority are defining features of the redeemed man.
David spoke from a place of deep revelation in Psalm 23: 4 when he said, “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, because You are with me.” You are free from fear because God has placed His Spirit within you; a Spirit of power, love, and a sound mind. Let this truth remain with you, that the bondage of fear that held you back has been broken.
Prayer: Father, You have not given me a spirit of fear. You have given me Your Spirit, and I am no longer a slave to fear.
