Topic: You Are Where You Need To Be
Scripture: Judges 16:26-30
When you think of Samson in Judges 16:25, you don’t see the mighty judge who conquered armies and lifted the gates of a city to the top of a hill. You don’t see a man of supernatural strength and great influence. You see a man being disgraced by his enemies, stripped of his dignity and sight. You see a man full of regret for his choices and decisions. He had been deceived by Delilah, and now his story is coming to a pitiful end; or so it seems.
Through the lens of God’s grace, we see differently. We see a man about to accomplish his greatest victory. With both hands against the pillars, Samson encounters God one more time, and in that moment, he receives strength to destroy more enemies than he had done in his prime. It was not time for regret. It was a time for an encounter, and God met Samson right where he was. In his broken state, Samson knew that with God, even the worst place can be made a perfect place for glory to be seen.
God is meeting you where you are, not where you think you should have been by now. Don’t let the pressure to succeed make you miss out on the beauty of your present season. There may have been mistakes, or disappointments, or unfortunate circumstances. But it has not changed God’s mind about you, nor altered His plans for your life. You are where you need to be in order to experience the help of God. Be present, be alert! The next chapter of your story is about to begin.
Prayer: Father, You see me. You know all about me. And I know You are making all things work together for my good.
