Topic: You Are Not Forgotten
Scripture: Esther 6:1-14
To feel forgotten is to come to a point where it seems your contributions are not recognized, or your needs are not prioritised. It gives the impression that there are other things/people that are more important. Very often, when people feel forgotten, they either try to seek attention or coil into a shell of low self-esteem. Mordecai did neither of these.
He had uncovered an assassination plot against the king. Thanks to Mordecai’s intervention, the plot was foiled. However, for a long period, there was no mention of a reward, and yet, Mordecai kept doing his job faithfully. When the time was right, according to the plan of God for the Jews, God stirred the heart of the king to remember Mordecai’s deed and to honour him at a time that the devil was trying to humiliate him.
When we sow seeds of love and kindness into the lives of others, we must trust God’s timing to bring our harvest. It can be frustrating if you place your focus on the reactions of men because they can forget, and they can take you for granted. But God is too faithful to forget, and too mindful of you to ignore your sacrifice or needs. Trust in His timing and He will bring you a harvest that exceeds your expectation.
Prayer: Father, You remain my focus. I am not forgotten because I am loved by You and called by Your name. I trust You to perfect all that concerns me at the appointed time.
