Topic: Who Has The Final Say?

Scripture: 1 Samuel 17:41-51

There’s this popular praise song where this question is asked, “Who has the final say?” And the response is, “Jehovah has the final say.” It is a declaration of our confidence in the will of God for our lives. No matter the setbacks or failures, what God has said will come to pass.

However, the practical application of this truth is often lacking in our lives. If God must have the final say, there must be someone to declare what God is saying. In our anchor text, David had gone up to face Goliath, and immediately Goliath saw him, he disdained him and began to speak, mocking David and throwing threats. David did not allow Goliath to have the final say. He responded, debunking the threats of Goliath and declaring his victory in the name of the Lord. David did not keep quiet, waiting for Jehovah to speak. He recognised that in that situation, he was the mouthpiece of Jehovah.

The enemy must not have the last word in any area of your life. The Word of God, that final say concerning your life, is in your mouth. No angel is coming to speak over the challenge for you. If Jehovah will have the final say concerning your family, career, business, etc, you must open your mouth and declare the Word of the Lord. The world will always try to speak over you, the economy will speak, doctors will speak, and situations will speak. But it is your responsibility to make sure that, through your mouth, Jehovah will have the final say.

Prayer: Father, I thank You for putting Your words in my mouth. I stand in that authority to speak over my life, and it will be established.
