Topic: What’s Your Perspective?
Scripture Reading: Colossians 3:1-6
A person’s perspective is simply how they view things because of their position. Your position determines what you see and how you see. If you are driving through a city, you can admire the huge buildings and billboards. But if you’re flying in a plane over the same city, those buildings become so tiny and insignificant.
There are certain issues of life that seem like a big deal just because of your position. When Goliath appeared in Israel, the people saw a giant, a skilful warrior. David saw a disrespectful fellow who needed to be taught a lesson. David’s perspective was due to his position with God; he was after God’s heart. Every other person was positioned in their natural human thinking. Because of his perspective, David conquered what every other person was afraid of.
There are giants and storms that may seem intimidating until you take your position of authority in Christ. Fear, anxiety, and doubt are symptoms of a wrong perspective, which is caused by a wrong position. Take your place of authority in Christ, and you will see how small these giants and storms really are. And you would also see how truly blessed and favoured you are.
Prayer: Father, I take my rightful place as a joint-heir with Christ, seated far above all powers of the enemy.
