Topic: Walk With God
Scripture: Psalm 16:5-11
Have you ever had the experience where you were on a walk with someone and you didn’t want it to end? At that point, the presence of the person is more valuable to you than the destination of the walk. That must have been how Enoch felt. He walked with God until God became more real to him than his physical environment, and he was translated.
Very often, God’s people are so focused on “arriving,” fulfilling that big purpose, or receiving the breakthroughs, that they don’t take time to enjoy the presence of The One walking with them. Because of the world we live in, there is a tendency to prioritise accomplishments above divine intimacy. We have to realize that God is our destination; His glory is our end and our reward.

Abraham was focused on who would be his heir since God hadn’t given him a son yet. And God had to remind him that He was the reward that gave meaning to every other thing on the journey. For someone, today is a good time to thank God for His presence in your life. Don’t just walk with Him, believing that He will come through for you. Acknowledge His presence, enjoy the fellowship of His Spirit, knowing that the value of your journey is dependent on Him going with you.
Prayer: Father, I thank You for Your presence in my life, and for the privilege to walk with You by faith in Your Word, and by the sweet fellowship of Your Spirit.
