Topic: Victory Over Temptation
Scripture Reading: 1 Corinthians 10:1-14
The people of the world often create the impression that everyone falls to temptation. They will want you to believe that everyone is corrupt, everyone fornicates or commits adultery, everyone will do anything for money. This helps them to walk in sin without feeling any guilt because, according to them, “Everybody does it. Body no be firewood.”
Unfortunately, some Believers also have this mindset. They believe that once the temptation comes, they can’t help it; they must fall to it. Therefore, instead of maturing in God to overcome temptation, they assume a position of weakness and fall to it every time. But we learn from the scriptures that, there is always a way of escape.
The faithfulness of God ensures that every temptation that comes our way is within our ability to overcome. When the enemy is scheming to tempt you, God intervenes to ensure that it is within the approved limits, and He also makes a way of escape. Nobody is ever helpless to a temptation. We have the ability to overcome by reason of the Word of God within us and the Holy Spirit who directs us. Therefore, we must be vigilant and not careless to enforce our victory over every temptation of the enemy.
Prayer: Father, thank You for Your faithfulness, which guarantees my victory over every temptation.
