Topic: Victory Is Your Birthright
Scripture: 1 John 5:4-6
Our ability to appreciate victory lies in the fact that life is riddled with contention. The life of a Believer is not fanfare and games. Every day requires us to be alert and intentional in our walk of faith. The enemy is constantly prowling, looking for an opportunity to steal, kill, and destroy. And God’s people are his target. Until Jesus comes, there is no season of a Believer that does not require vigilance.
But we must understand that vigilance is not the same as fear. We are to be careful, not fearful. Fear is necessary when there is a possibility of defeat. To be afraid is to say that the enemy can have the upper hand to prevail against you. But that is not possible because you have been given authority over all his power.
The only way the enemy can have an advantage is if you do not put your authority to use. He may come in diverse ways, seeking to attack in the area of health, finances, family, career, every area of your life that is important. But victory is not a product of your good behaviour or length of your prayer. It is your birthright. Though the contentions and challenges may come, know that because you are born of God, the only outcome for you is victory. You are born to overcome, and no devil can change that.
Prayer: Father, I thank You for the assurance of victory I have in You. I stand firm in faith, and I overcome every attack of the enemy.
