Topic: Understand The Urgency Of The Moment
Scripture: Ephesians 5:14-21
You have been given a gift today. It is the gift of time. Every activity on earth is regulated by it, and your ability to fulfil God’s plan for your life is dependent on the wisdom you apply in your usage of time. The term urgency highlights the importance attached to the time you have been given. When there is a state of urgency, your actions or inactions have significant consequences.
Apostle Paul gives us a reason to appreciate the urgency of the times we live in. It is because the days are evil. There is so much havoc that the kingdom of darkness is wrecking, and each day, many lives are being led into bondage. Those who have been mandated to represent Christ cannot afford to be idle, else there will be grave consequences. God is not waiting for you to serve Him later. He wants to use you right in this moment to establish His will. Today is another opportunity to partner with God.
When we don’t appreciate the urgency of the times, we become like the unprofitable servant who buried his talent; we become like the foolish virgins who slept without having extra oil. Without urgency, we sleep like the disciples of Jesus at Gethsemane, unaware of the trouble that was about to come. Today, you have an opportunity to redeem time for God’s purpose. Make the most of it.
Prayer: Father, I thank You for the blessing of life and the opportunity to walk in Your will. I receive grace to be a faithful steward of the time I have been given.
