Topic: Trust In God’s Power Within You
Scripture: Acts 3:1-11
The power of God at work in a man gives him the ability to effect change or accomplish the will of God on earth. If you have been baptised in the Holy Spirit, then you carry the power of God (Acts 1:8). And if you carry the power of God, then you have the ability to effect change according to God’s will. You can put a stop to the works of darkness and shine the light of God in every situation.
Peter and John met a man at the gate of the temple who had been born lame. He came there each day to beg for money from the worshippers. When he saw Peter and John, he asked for money, but Peter decided to give him something much greater. He said, “I’ll give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ, get up and walk!” Immediately, the man received strength to walk for the first time in his life, and everyone at the temple was astonished because they knew him. The power of God had been put to use.
Notice, Peter didn’t say “I will give you what God will give me.” He knew he had already been given the power through Jesus. And that is true for you, too. You already carry the power of God. When faced with challenges and negative situations, trust in God’s power within you and begin to effect change. Don’t frustrate the power, use it!
Prayer: Father, I acknowledge Your power at work in me. By that power, I effect change, I shine as light, and I enforce Your will on earth.
