Topic: The Sheep And The Coin
Scripture: Luke 15:3-10
Jesus is that good Shepherd who leaves the ninety-nine who are safe in order to find the one who is lost. And this nature of His should guide our attitude towards those who need to be saved. Heaven will always rejoice when one sinner is redeemed and brought into the sheepfold. But Jesus also spoke about the lost coin.
Unlike the sheep who is lost outside of the pen, the coin is lost inside the house. It is still inside the house of God, but it is out of position, and it cannot find purpose or clarity. They still know what is happening in church; they hear the sermons and the songs, but they are lost in ungodly patterns, cycles, and emotions. God is interested in lost coins, too.
For the lost coin, the first thing God does is to send light through His Word. When the revelation of God’s word floods the heart of a man, it gives him an understanding of where he is and where he needs to be. And then sweeping can begin, which is the cleansing and renewing of mind plus the establishing of godly habits. To the lost sheep and the lost coin, know that God’s grace is available to you. Take your rightful place in the Kingdom of our Father.
Prayer: Father, use me as a vessel to draw the lost back to You.
