Topic: The Price and The Prize
Scripture: Joshua 17:14-18
Stepping into a new level requires that you give up something on your current level. Just as an eaglet must give up the comfort of its nest in order to fly, the people of God must identify, for every season, what price they have to pay to step into new seasons. We must allow the Spirit of God to disrupt the comfort of our carnality so that we can truly reflect God’s glory.
In our anchor text, we see the tribes of Ephraim and Manasseh coming to Joshua. They were uncomfortable with their portion of land, so Joshua gave them permission to expand. The discomfort unveiled their capacity for expansion. But they had to climb up mountains and clear up the terrain. They had to drive out Canaanites who were strong and rode iron chariots. They had to pay the price to obtain greater territory.
You cannot be ushered into the new when you’re comfortable in the old. A new season requires hunger and a passionate desire to move past what is normal and comfortable. As we draw closer to the end of one year and prepare for the next, there are territories to be obtained. There is a higher place for you. May God strengthen you to press and obtain the prize ahead.
Prayer: Father, I thank You for every discomfort that is working in my favour. I receive strength to step into new levels.
