Topic: The Patience For Growth
Scripture: Matthew 13:3-23
There are things that happen instantly. However, not everything is instant. Some things require the process of time. One of them is growth. Growth requires patience because the processes involved cannot be rushed. As powerful and vital as the assignment of Jesus was on earth, he was born a baby and had to wait for growth before fulfilling his assignment. His anointing did not exclude him from the process. Our world today offers shortcuts. But when breakthroughs happen suddenly, they soon fizzle out because without growth, there is no endurance.
In the parable of the sower, one particular soil experienced quick results. It wasn’t the good soil, but the rocky soil. There was no room for deep growth, so the shoot sprung up quickly, and at that point, the rocky soil appeared more successful than the good soil. But when adversity came, the shoots withered away. The good soil took time because the roots had to go deep before the shoots could show. When they finally sprung up, they endured.
There are things God will do speedily, but only after you have experienced the process of growth. Like Joseph, it took one day to move from prison to the palace, but it took years to prepare him for that day. Elijah received speed to run after being patient in the place of prayer. Don’t be anxious. Allow God to build you for what He has prepared for you. Endure the process of growth.
Prayer: Father, I receive grace to wait on You and to grow according to the leading of Your Spirit.
