Topic: The Lord Our Keeper
Scripture: Psalm 121:1-8
As the days go by, it is becoming clearer that the world is not a safe place, especially for God’s people. There are agents of the enemy seeking to destroy lives, families, churches, and destabilise nations. Anything that is godly becomes a target of the evil one. We are dealing with principalities, powers, rulers of darkness, and spiritual wickedness in high places. It will be naive for anyone who is called of God to live carelessly in these times.
But it would also be ignorant of any Believer to live in fear. That is because we have a Keeper; one who watches over us faithfully. Our Father knows how to keep His own, even in the midst of destruction. When Balaam and Balak conspired against Israel, God shut them up. When Pharoah and his soldiers chased after Israel, they were drowned. When a Babylonian king put three of God’s people in a furnace, it backfired because the soldiers perished while the three boys had a divine encounter in the fire. And when Satan thought he had finally won by crucifying Jesus, the power of resurrection raised Him back to life and set us free from the law of sin and death.
Our Keeper does not sleep nor slumber. Nothing catches Him by surprise. And even though there are certain situations that we cannot explain, we can trust in the faithfulness of God to bring out beauty from the ashes. Go through each day being conscious of the fact that, though the days are evil, you have a Keeper!
Prayer: Father, I fear no evil because You are with me. I praise You because my life, my family, and all that concerns me are kept by Your mighty power.
