Topic: The Blessing Of Godly Friendship
Scripture: Mark 2:1-5
The quality of a person’s life is greatly influenced by the kind of people he associates with. As iron sharpens iron, so a man is sharpened by his friend (Proverbs 27:17). Throughout Scripture, we see how people fulfilled their assignment and received restoration by the help of people around them. We also see many others miss out on God’s will for them because they listened to wrong people.
The healing of the paralysed man in Mark 2 is unique because the faith that provoked the healing was not from the man but from his friends. They had already done enough by carrying him to the house where Jesus was, because of his inability to move on his own. But when they got to the house, the place was already full. Rather than give up and send him home, they took the unusual risk of uncovering the roof and letting down the bed in front of Jesus. They believed that if they could get him in front of Jesus, he would be healed. Jesus saw the faith of these men and healed their friend.

Who do you have in your corner? The right people in your life make you sharper, and the wrong people will make you blunt. Isolation and wrong communication have always been part of the strategy of the enemy against God’s people. In a season of restoration, God is bringing faith partners your way; people who will stand with you in agreement to overcome, who will push you to go further in your walk with God, and in moments of weakness, they will be channels of strength. May you receive the discernment to recognize the people God has planted in your life for this season and the wisdom to be a channel of strength to those around you.
Prayer: Father, I thank You for the blessing of godly friendship and community. I receive grace to discern those You have planted in my life for such a time as this.
