Topic: Stewards Or Celebrities?
Scripture Reading: Matthew 25:14-30
A steward is a person given the responsibility of managing or looking after another person’s property. He acknowledges that there is an owner to whom he must give account regarding everything entrusted into his care. In the Kingdom of God, we are not just sons and joint-heirs. We are also stewards of the resources of our Father, ensuring the establishment of His Kingdom on earth.
There is a celebrity culture of the world where people magnify themselves as owners and achievers, seeking to be praised by men for their substance. A celebrity is motivated by self-glory, not service. But this is the desire of a steward: to use everything given to him for the increase of the Master’s business so that he can hear the Master say, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
As we receive God’s blessings, as we prosper, let us remember that we are stewards, not celebrities. The businesses, marriage, children, ministries, as well as your time and energy, are all resources for His glory. You are not in competition with the world. You have been entrusted with these blessings to bring profit to the Father. Dear steward, remain faithful.
Prayer: Father, I thank You for entrusting me with Your resources. I receive wisdom to be productive and grace to be faithful.
