Topic: Step Up!
Scripture: Daniel 2:1-23
At the end of the first chapter of Daniel, there is an amazing testimony. In all matters of wisdom and understanding, King Nebuchadnezzar found Daniel and his three friends (Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah) ten times better than the magicians and astrologers. In the next chapter, there is a situation in Babylon that was going to get Daniel and his friends executed along with all the wise men. It looked like Daniel had moved from a season of favour to a season of despair.
The king had a dream and needed interpretation of it. That shouldn’t have been a problem because Daniel had the ability to interpret mysteries and dreams. The problem was that the king wasn’t going to share the dream. They had to first find out the dream supernaturally and then give the interpretation. Daniel had never faced this kind of challenge. But instead of panicking or trying to lobby his way out using the favour of the previous chapter, Daniel decided to step up. He asked the king for time because he realized he could upgrade himself to meet the demands of this new season. Together with his friends, Daniel prayed to God, and he received a revelation of the dream and its interpretation.
A new season can begin with a daunting challenge. It may look like you’re out of your depth, and it may seem unfair. But in the presence of God, you have the opportunity to step up. There is help and grace to overcome every challenge in every season. Daniel chapter two ends in a bigger testimony. Your new season, no matter the challenge, is ending in praise.
Prayer: Father, thank You for the ability to overcome every challenge and the strength to step into new heights.
