Topic: Stay Vigilant

Scripture Reading: Matthew 13:24-30

Jesus gave a parable of a man who sowed good seed in his field. But when men slept, the enemy came to sow weeds in the same field. As they both grew, the field had wheat and weeds sprouting. Something negative had been introduced to taint the harvest.

Jesus would later explain that the wheat are the people of the Kingdom, while the weeds are the people of the devil. Whenever we are not vigilant, the enemy introduces weeds into our fields. A wrong association, idea, or influence can cause havoc to the harvest of your field, and that field can be career, family, ministry, or even your health.

Look at how Lot and his family were tainted by the “weeds” found in Sodom and Gomorrah. The influence of sexual perversion will later play out in their lives. The enemy is always looking for opportunities to corrupt what God has given you. Stand your ground, be vigilant in prayer, and resist every influence of the enemy over your life, your home, and everything connected to you.

Prayer: Father, I submit to You, I resist the devil, and in the name of Jesus, he must flee.
