Scripture: John 15:1-9
We all know the frustration of dealing with a malfunctioning gadget. Imagine a phone that has only the calculator app working; no calls, no messages, no internet. Imagine a pressing iron with no heat, a television with a blank screen, or a car that can’t move. Any owner of such gadgets will be frustrated because they are not getting returns on their investments.
Well, there is a greater disappointment in the heart of our Father when we do not reflect His nature on earth. He created us to have dominion and enforce His will. Any contrary life will be a malfunction. However, unlike electronic and mechanical gadgets, man operates with his free will. Therefore, the malfunctioning of mankind begins with the wrong application of his will. According to the divine manual, man only functions correctly when he stays connected to God, his source.
If there is any area of your life that does not reflect the nature of your Heavenly Father, check the quality of your connection. Jesus said, if we abide in Him, and He abides in us, we will bear fruit that pleases the Father. Without this connection, we will malfunction, and the Father will not have a malfunctioning branch on the vine. No matter what is happening in your life, no matter the season, stay connected, genuinely connected, to God. It is worth it.
Prayer: Father, I acknowledge that without You I can do nothing. By Your Spirit within me, I will stay connected to You, and my life will showcase Your glory.
