Topic: Shift The Atmosphere

Scripture: Mark 5:35-43

When Jairus got to his house, he met a situation that probably deflated the little faith he had left. There were people crying and wailing. There were minstrels playing dirges. The atmosphere was enforcing a narrative; that his daughter was dead, and there was nothing that could be done. When he left home earlier to go find Jesus, she was critically ill. But upon return, the evidence suggested that it was too late. She was gone.

Thankfully, Jairus did not return alone. He came with Jesus. And as long as Jesus is on the scene, nothing is hopeless. The year is coming to an end. It may be that, like Jairus, you are being forced to accept defeat or compromise. It seems like disappointment is beckoning, and what you have been praying for may not happen. But if you approach the end with Jesus by your side, there is a testimony that will yet unfold.

Jesus would eventually raise Jairus’ daughter from the dead. But he first had to shift the atmosphere, driving out those wailing, those minstrels, and those mocking the power of God. To see God’s glory, you must shift your atmosphere from worry to faith. Clear out the fear, anxiety, and condemnation. Take charge of your environment by speaking God’s Word in authority over your situation, and partner with Jesus for a glorious end to 2025. With God, that testimony is still possible.

Prayer: Father, I stand in faith on Your Word. I reject every negative report, and I declare that I will see Your glory in my life.
