Topic: Set The Right Priority
Scripture Reading: Luke 10:38-42
A life of purpose must have a well-defined priority. You must know what is most important to you, and what must be given attention in every season. Mary and Martha both had their priorities, but one of them chose the wrong priority. Martha was getting stressed and agitated because she chose a priority that couldn’t give her peace. She was focused on what she had to do to host Jesus. Mary, on the other hand, was at peace, focusing on Jesus.
Jesus remains the only priority that will give you peace beyond understanding. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, take a pause and check your priorities. Like Martha, many people have put activities ahead of a personal relationship with Christ. They think they can work their way into peace.
But, peace is not the absence of trouble. It is the presence of a person; Jesus. When your mind is stayed on Him, what you have is perfect peace, no matter what is happening around you. Put Jesus at the centre of your life, fix your focus on Him, and you will be at peace.
Prayer: Father, my mind is fixed on you, and I know you will keep me in perfect peace.
