Topic: Sensitivity To God’s Voice
Scripture: Hebrews 4:1-16
Sensitivity is simply the ability to respond to stimuli or signals. One of the unique privileges of God’s people is the ability to have His voice direct our steps. We are meant to be recipients of Divine direction. However, it takes sensitivity to rightly receive and respond to what God is saying. Without sensitivity, we miss out on God’s leading, and our Christian walk becomes unfruitful.
In 1 Timothy 4, Apostle Paul speaks about the end-time. One feature he mentions is the lack of sensitivity to God’s voice. There will be Believers who would rather follow lies and deception because their conscience is seared; dead to God’s voice. They cannot perceive God’s voice calling them to order, so they continue in their folly. It starts gradually by ignoring the prompting and instruction of the Holy Spirit one at a time until the conscience loses sensitivity.
Building sensitivity begins with a desire to hear God’s voice primarily through the Scriptures. As you study, pray, and worship, have an expectation, by faith, to hear the voice of your Father speaking to your heart. And when you perceive His instructions, don’t hesitate. Prompt obedience builds sensitivity, while delay compromises it. God’s voice is reaching out to you today. When you hear Him, respond. And by your consistent response, you become fruitful and productive in your faith.
Prayer: Father, I desire to hear Your voice and to follow Your leading. Guide me into all You have prepared for me.
