Topic: See The Victory Not The Enemy

Scripture Reading: 2 Kings 6:11-20

The servant of Elisha woke up early, and as he stepped out, he realized that the Syrian army had surrounded the entire city with horses and chariots. They were coming to arrest his boss, Elisha. The young man went into panic mode as he rushed to tell Elisha what was happening. We can understand his fear because the Syrian army was known for its ruthlessness, and the servant couldn’t see how they were going to get out of this problem.

But Elisha realized that his servant’s fear was because of his limited perspective. To help him overcome his fear, Elisha prayed, asking God to open his servant’s eyes. And the Lord opened his eyes and he saw horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha. He panicked earlier because he could only see what the enemy was doing and had no revelation of what God was doing. But through revelation, he realized there was no need to fear.

To the person feeling overwhelmed and afraid; to the one who seems to be surrounded by trouble on every side, it is time for a new perspective. You are not alone. You are surrounded, not by trouble, but by the help and favour of God. Turn your focus off the enemy, and see the salvation of the Lord working in your favour.

Prayer: Father, by the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, open my eyes to see Your wonderful works in my life.
