Topic: Run Your Race
Scripture: Hebrews 12:1-3
Everyone who is a child of God is running a race on earth, a race set by God Himself. We have not been redeemed to take a holiday, but to obtain a prize at the end of our race on earth. However, this race is not defined by speed but by patience.
In the world of sports, speed determines the winner of the race, so an athlete will have to compare his timing to others and try to run faster than his competitors. But in the Kingdom of God, your race is not defined by speed, so you don’t have to compare your time to others. Your race is defined by patience, which is your ability to endure and overcome the challenges on your path.
Jesus, who is our perfect example, completed his race by enduring and overcoming every challenge. The timing of others does not affect your reward, so there’s no need for comparison. As Hebrews 6:12 says, we must follow the example of those who obtain God’s promises through faith and patience. Your race is still on. Run with patience. Your prize awaits.
Prayer: Father, thank You for the grace to run with patience, the race You have set before me. My eyes are fixed on You alone.
