Topic: Pay Attention! God Is Speaking!
Scripture: Exodus 3:1-10
At the backside of Mount Horeb, an 80 year old shepherd is with his flock. It looks like a normal day in his quiet, serene environment. But he has no idea that this is the day he will be commissioned as leader over Israel, God’s chosen people. At the age of 80, Moses is about to begin the fulfilment of his life’s purpose. But this exciting new chapter will only begin if Moses can pay attention.
We know about this episode in the life of Moses. But let’s highlight a few things. First, it did not start as a spectacular day. Just like how your day has begun today, Moses woke up feeling normal and ordinary. The change happened when he paid attention to a supernatural prompting. A burning bush not being consumed was enough to pique his interest. He left his natural routine to pay attention to a supernatural signal. “When the LORD saw that he had gone over to look, God called to him from within the bush . . .” (Exodus 3:4) That signal was God beckoning him to a new chapter.
God is speaking, calling out to His chosen ones, and commissioning them into the divine plan and purpose for this time. This call is open to everyone who believes in Christ Jesus. But your ability to pay attention to the voice of God will determine what you receive. The Spirit of God dwelling in you is the primary way God will speak to you. Pay attention because there is a great new chapter opening up for you.
Prayer: Father, today I am attentive to Your voice. Lead me by Your Spirit into the new chapter ordained for me in this season.
