Topic: Living in the Light
Scripture: John 1:1-12
If a friend or loved one is about to embark on a journey at night, and yet their car has no lights, what will be your reaction? What if you ordered for a taxi cab at night, and when the car comes, it has no light because the driver believes he is so experienced he doesn’t need headlights on his car? These two scenarios sound ridiculous because every right-thinking person knows that in order to travel when there’s darkness, your vehicle must have light.
As ridiculous as these examples are, every day, we have people journeying through this dark world without light. People make important decisions without light. People get into relationships, business partnerships, and even marriage without light. They are groping in the dark, hoping for success. In almost every country in the world, it will be an offence to drive a vehicle at night without light, and yet when it comes to our actual lives, we want to move on the dark highways without light.
The light of life is the Word of God. Without an understanding of God’s will through His Word, every activity is like groping in the dark; you make mistakes, go in the wrong direction, or even cause damage. But when your path is lighted by the Word, you can avoid danger and get to your destination successfully. The Holy Spirit is always ready to help you discover the light in God’s Word. Trust Him!
Prayer: Father, I thank You for revelation, knowledge, and understanding from Your Word. I go from strength to strength by Your Spirit within me.
