Topic: Has The Salt Lost Its Flavour?
Scripture Reading: Matthew 5:13-16
As people of God, we must realize that our effectiveness lies in our uniqueness. We cannot make an impact if we are no different from the environment we find ourselves. By being afraid or reluctant to stand out and be noticed, we miss out on the opportunity to express the glory of God within us.
Jesus described us as the salt of the earth. We have the ability to effect change, no matter how small we may seem. But that only happens when we are different. When salt loses its flavour, choosing to blend in rather than stand out, it becomes useless. As long as you remain different, you have value.
This difference is not self-generated but rather a function of the Holy Spirit within you. The world will want you to blend in, but you carry within you the Omnipotent Spirit of God; you can’t be like everyone else. You can’t speak like everyone else. You can’t react like everyone else. Be conscious of your uniqueness, your flavour, at all times, and let God be glorified through your life.
