Topic: God Is Never Late
Scripture Reading: Mark 5:22-43
Jairus came to Jesus and asked him to come lay his hands on his daughter, who was gravely ill. Jesus agreed to do so, and as they went, a crowd was gathering eager to see another miracle. On their way, a woman with an issue of blood stepped in with an audacious act of faith to claim healing by touching the hem of Jesus’ garment. And Jesus took time to address her and commend her act of faith.
As admirable as her action was, from Jairus’ perspective, that was an interruption in the plan. By the time Jesus was done with the woman, Jairus’ daughter was dead. The delay had worsened his situation.
Sometimes, in the waiting period, it may seem like things are getting worse. But know this, God is always on time. Jesus arrived and resurrected the girl, which was a bigger testimony. If you are waiting on God, do not be afraid. Don’t be anxious about the interruptions. Only believe. Your testimony will surely come.
Meditation: Are you waiting in faith, or have you become anxious about the delay? Find confidence in the faithfulness of God.
