Topic: God Has A Spec
Scripture Reading: Isaiah 66:1-2
When a person says they have a spec, they mean there are certain qualities a person must have in order to attract their attention or to be in a relationship with them. The word “spec” is short for specification, which refers to a precise requirement. Not everyone has the precise requirements for a relationship with you. You have a spec. And yes, God has a spec, too.
God’s gift of salvation is for everyone without discrimination. But when it comes to partnering with God in order to fulfil His will and express His glory, there are specific requirements. When Samuel went to Jesse’s house, he could not anoint Eliab, Abinadab, or any of the other brothers of David because they were not His spec. Fortunately, we have the Holy Spirit, who is constantly guiding us and transforming us to meet these Divine requirements.
God’s requirements are centred on the humility and tenderness of our hearts, and our attitude towards His word. When a person possesses these qualities, God is attracted to them and partners with them to execute His will. Check your heart posture and your response to God’s word. Let the Holy Spirit continue to transform you by the renewing of your mind, so that your life will truly be pleasing to God. You are meant to be God’s spec.
Prayer: Father, by the help of Your Spirit within me, may my life be pleasing to You always.
